ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I did not write this book because my life was clean, easy, or heroic. I wrote it because some stories stay inside you until they demand a way out. For much of my life, I thought courage was something I had to prove. I chased it through uniforms, police cars, war zones, dangerous streets, and the approval of men I respected.
I was wrong.
Chasing Courage: No Guns, No Glory is about the courage nobody claps for.
The courage to bury the people you love.
The courage to keep going when, in your mind, giving up made more sense.
The courage to let yourself be carried when you can no longer stand.
The courage to admit that maybe you spent too much of your life looking for courage in the wrong places.
I have done my best to tell these events as truthfully as memory allows. Some names, details, or identifying information may have been changed or limited to protect the privacy of others.
I do not know if any man ever gets a complete answer as to whether he has done enough. This book is my attempt to answer that question honestly

This was one of those books that reminded me why I enjoy reading memoirs. The action sequences are engaging, but the reflective passages are equally compelling. Not because every page is filled with dramatic events, but because it captures an authentic human life in all its complexity.
